HISTORY:
SEED Group was founded in 1997 as SEED Tours and Safaris, Inc. - a Chicago-based destination tour operator designed to promote specialized safari packages between the United States and East Africa. Given that the founder - Symon Ogeto, was graduate student at Columbia College Chicago at the time, he helped forge a working relationship with the College's alumni relations office. Beginning 1998, SEED began promoting annual summer tours to the college's alumni, faculty and student communities.
Between 1998 - 2001, SEED also forged strategic alliances with a some local Chicago travel agents and operators to promote East Africa as a destination. Some of these partners included: Marshall Field's Travel Services, STA Travel, Econet Travel, RK Travel, Aarco Travel Agency among others. Unfortunately, following the tragic terrorist attackes in the US on 9/11/01, several tour operators and travel agents were forced to fold and SEED was no exception.
In May 2007, the company re-emerged as SEED Group with a broader mission - to strategically position itself as a US-based international tour operator offering customers logistical planning, consulting and coordinating of various travel services between the United States and East Africa. In doing so, we strive to maximize the vast destinations we offer, put into use all the dedicated travel time, whether for leisure or business is worth the experience we strive to afford each of our clients.
Also, SEED Group offers the following services that highly complement our overal group and divisional operations:
(a) media services ranging from graphic design services;
(b) an online publishing entity called Mashariki Leo and
(c) an English-Swahili African Language Bureau.
SEED Group is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois with base ground operations for our travel services in Nairobi, Kenya.
